SBE CHAPTER 49---CENTRAL ILLINOIS
May Meeting.. May 14th....
Our Meeting this month will be at Cromwell studios (WEJT) in Decatur located
at 410 N. Water Street. Meeting time is 6:30. If you need help finding it
call me at 309-333-1657. I will be traveling through Springfield, I have
room for 3 people if anyone wants me to pick them up to save some gas. Call
me to make arrangements.
Note next months meeting is in Champaign at Illini Radio hosted by Mark
Spalding it also is changed to a Tuesday on the 10th of June. The time will
be 6:30. I will email out the directions later this month. I will try and
get a presentation set up from someone. Same thing for car pool, I will
travel through Springfield on my way to Champaign's meeting.
Reminder that our taste of NAB is coming from Larry Bloomfield on September
26th. Since it is a Friday we are trying to arrange a cookout (Which means
free food) in the afternoon. We want to have it in Champaign/Urbana and are
still needing a host. The location will need 60 feet of table space so Larry
can set things up to demo.
If you have never been to a Taste of NAB by Larry you need to make it a
point to come. All engineers and electronic enthusiast including ham radio
operators. Any engineering students are welcome also. Even broadcast
journalist students and any control operators from TV stations would enjoy
the outing. Please keep this in mind. Any other questions call me.

At The October 2007 meeting it was voted on and decided to move the meetings
to the 2nd Wednesday of the month.

UPCOMING MEETINGS
It looks like the taste of the NAB will return this year, Larry Bloomfield has us scheduled September 26th (a Friday). I would like to have it in the Champaign area since Keith Kintner had so much success the year he scheduled it. Larry budgets $250 dollars for food during the venue. So if any of our engineers over there can help out by hosting there location I would really appreciate it. The show can be afternoon or evening and maybe since it is a Friday we could get a crowd for the afternoon. Any students, ham radio or broadcast engineers are welcome to attend - so get the word out.
